A Relaxing Weekend

We had a great weekend!! On Friday after returning home from the dentist, we went to Mom's house for dinner. Pop from North Carolina was in town for the weekend, so we had burgers and hung out over there for a while.
It was a lot of fun, I haven't seen Pop in a little over a year, so it was great to get to spend some time with him!! Aidan had a really good time eating everything in sight and desperately needed a bath afterward!!
On Saturday, Mikey and Alex met Randy, Tyler, and Mr. Mike over where they hunt to move around treestands and other boy stuff that I know nothing about. They had a great time, but were covered in ticks when they got home. I think all of them except Alex (thank God!!) ended up with poison ivy. That night, Mikey and I went to one of our favorite restaurants, Mikado's Japanese Steakhouse. It was soooo good!! Sunday was really uneventful. We went to church and then slept the rest of the day away. It was nice to have nothing to do!!

The dentist went fabulous!! I couldn't have asked for a better behaved 11 month old and 3 year old. Aidan just sat there in his car seat and watched. Alex let them do whatever they needed to and used his manners perfectly. It makes you feel so good when you hear your child saying yes ma'am to a stranger without being prompted....so proud of him (and myself a little too haha!!). When I was getting my teeth cleaned he told the hygienist that she "better not hurt his mommy!!!" and he kept on asking me if I was okay and reassuring me that I would be okay. He held my hand almost the whole time, except when Aidan dropped his pacifier or needed talking to. Needless to say AGAIN but I will anyway, I was a proud Momma in that dentist office today!! Here is a picture of Alex's "shiny, clean teeth"!!

trying something new

Well I have decided to start a blog, I have a lot of time on my hands this summer so I thought it would be the perfect time. I have wanted to do this for a while, I think it is a great way to keep up with friends and family, a way to get out prayer requests, plus it is like a virtual scrapbook. It will be a good way for our family to still feel a part of our lives if/when we have to move for Mikey's school.

On today's agenda, the boys and I are going to clean house, Alex and I have a dentist appointment (he is not excited, he said that his "tooth is already clean", like he only has one.......he is so funny). So, I could definately use your prayers around 4:00 (appointment time). Aidan is so big, he is walking all around the house acting like he owns the place, I can't believe he is almost a year old. It just seems too soon. Mikey is at work today, it is his 2nd day at Vanderbilt. He forgot his badge this morning, so he had to park in Hillsboro Village, hope he doesn't get towed!!
